Learn to Sail Programs

Exmouth Yacht Club runs it's sailing season from October to March with pre-season learn to sail programs run in September and early October.  Programs are currently run by visiting instructors from Perth or interstate.

   Levels 1, 2 & 3

Tackers is a fun based sailing program with a designanted pathway for young children (boys and girls 7-12yrs) to get into sailing.  It is a fun competency-based program, where sailors need to progress through stages 1-3, in order, before they can progress to Green and Junior Fleet training.  It is named after the sailing term Tacking, which is when you change direction in a boat.

The Out There Sailing program is designed for boys and girls aged 12-17yrs who want to try dinghy sailing along with other on and off water activities.  It focuses on the social element and simply enjoying time spend with peers having fun and learning new skills.

   Start Sailing Level 1 & 2 

These programs are for ages 13yrs-adults and are structured so that participants progress through two levels of learning to sail laser dinghies.    Dinghies are an ideal learning platform to teach the fundamentals of sailing.

Sail Training is provided with an accredited Australian Sailing Coach where participants can practise skills learnt, improve and develop through to racing level.  Numbers for sail training sessions are kept low.

Racing - Every fortnight from October, EYC holds racing events.  Please visit our Calendar for upcoming dates.  If you could like to see if existing participants need crew, please send us an email with your information.

Private Lessons -whether you need to use a club boat or your own, EYC can organise private lessons for you with an accredited Australian Sailing Coach.  Prices are subject to your needs and timeframe.
